Hazardous Material Policies

Please note that the following policies are in place at Action Metal Recyclers with regards to the collection of hazardous materials and substances.

Asbestos: Materials containing asbestos will be rejected. Asbestos should be removed and disposed only by certified professionals.

Flammable Materials: Materials containing, or are known or suspected to have contained flammable liquids, such as car and truck bodies, must have their fuel tanks drained or any other residual flammable liquid removed.

Explosive Materials: Materials containing, or are known or suspected to have contained explosive elements, such as those used in the mining or fireworks industries, must be de-contaminated and be presented with a current de-contamination certificate.

Toxic Materials: Materials containing, or are known or suspected to have contained toxic elements, such as those used in the bulk fuel and oil industries, must be de-contaminated and be presented with a current de-contamination certificate.

Radioactive Materials: Materials containing, or are known or suspected to have contained radioactive elements, such as those used in the x-ray industries, must be de-contaminated and be presented with a current de-contamination certificate.
